We were very excited to be included by Troy Marden and the staff of the popular Nashville – based PBS TV Show called The Volunteer Gardener on their recent visit to Chattanooga this past July. Although July is notorious for being a difficult month in our zone 6b-7a garden for lack of color in blooms, we are sure that Troy and his team were still able to highlight lots of interesting plants and design ideas that we tried to incorporate into our “English Style” Cottage garden. We aimed at creating a garden that would complement the architecture of our 100 plus year old home in the historic St. Elmo neighborhood. Our goal was to create year-round color and interest by incorporating lots of evergreens and many heirloom and modern perennials and roses. The Volunteer Gardener airs state-wide, and on our local PBS station where our segment is to air this September.
