This mid-century ranch home in Chattanooga, TN, was a gem with a sprawling, level yard and beautiful mountain stone outcroppings. However, it lacked the height variation and color needed to create a truly dynamic landscape. Our team at Dream Gardens USA was brought in to transform this expansive lawn into a vibrant and visually pleasant outdoor space.
Our design focused on adding vertical interest and a rich color palette to the property. We strategically planted beautiful “Kousa” Dogwoods and “Bloodgood” burgundy-leafed Japanese Maples to create the much-needed height variation. To add structure and color in both spring and fall, we incorporated “Encore” Azaleas. Cheerful, large white blooms from “Annabelle” hydrangeas were planted across the beds on the entire property, adding a touch of classic elegance.
A long, almost bare wood fence presented an opportunity to create a stunning blooming border. We planted stunning “Vitex” trees and wispy, full Miscanthus Grass to add texture and movement. Substantial “Shasta” Daisies and other perennials were also added to create a lush, full, and interesting border that will provide beauty for years to come.
